Where to Cruise Now, by leading cruise CEO David Gooch, Iglu.com
David Gooch, CEO at Iglu.com says, 'We've seen a surge in interest and bookings for specific cruise destinations, including Northern Europe and the Fjords, the Arctic, Canada and New England and the British Isles. What is good to see is that holidaymakers remain committed to travelling, despite the conflict in the Middle East, but are choosing their destinations carefully and relying on agents like Iglu to help them pick exactly what's right for them.
Whilst late bookings for Easter are very much in demand in these areas, there is still availability at competitive prices for the rest of the year and beyond.
Families in particular are keen to lock in a booking right now, in anticipation of possible price rises.
At the same time, the cruise market is in good shape, as the lines can move ships out of affected areas, and change itineraries relatively quickly to meet future customers' needs.
We expect even more enquiries for British Isles cruising, and cruises departing from UK ports, negating the need for a flight.
As for ski, we have seen a sudden spike in interest, perhaps due to the recent Games, or from people keen to get away to the mountains and who have had to change their travel plans due to the situation in the Middle East. Once again the end of season brings excellent snow conditions, with our customers enjoying top skiing on new snow. We still have some catered chalets available, in popular resorts such as St. Anton, Austria, where Spring skiing conditions are beautiful at present, but time is running out to secure these for Easter'.
