Two additional performances of Kynren – An Epic Tale of England have been added this summer following a surge in early ticket demand for the award-winning live outdoor spectacle.

Organisers have announced that the epic production will now also be staged on Friday 21st August and Friday 4th September, giving audiences more opportunities to experience one of the UK's most spectacular live events.

Traditionally performed on Saturday nights, the addition of Friday performances offers visitors the chance to begin their weekend with an unforgettable evening of large-scale storytelling, live action, horses, pyrotechnics and dramatic choreography.

Set against the dramatic backdrop of Auckland Palace, the outdoor live show takes visitors on a journey through 2,000 years of British history, myth and legend, performed by a cast and crew of more than 1,000 volunteers.

The production has grown into one of the North East's most significant cultural and tourism events, attracting visitors from across the UK and beyond.

“Demand for Kynren continues to grow every year and we are delighted to be able to offer audiences two additional performances this summer,” said Anna Warnecke, CEO of Kynren.

“What makes this possible is the extraordinary commitment of our volunteers, the Archers. With a thousand people involved in bringing the show to life, their dedication and passion allow us to expand the programme and welcome even more visitors.

“These extra Friday performances give people the chance to start their weekend with something truly special, and we are incredibly excited to add these extra dates to the 2026 season,” she added.

Visitors booking tickets for the Friday performances will also receive first access to tickets for the all-new daytime park experience Kynren – The Storied Lands, which is set to open in July.
