With over 28 million people expected to attend the World Expo 2025, OMO7 Osaka by Hoshino Resorts, an official partner sponsor, is ready to welcome both domestic and international visitors to the major global affair.
Located within walking distance to Shinsekai, a beloved historical district with retro vibes and charming eateries, the hotel which opened in 2022, received an environmental award in 2024 for its "Miya-green” garden area at the 42nd Osaka Cityscape Architecture Awards.
With just two months until the Expo's opening, OMO7 Osaka by Hoshino Resorts has collaborated with SkyDrive Co., Ltd., a company that will be demonstrating a flying car at the Expo, in addition to holding presentations by Expo enthusiasts and walking tours to reveal the unknown connections between the Expo and Shinsekai.
Here's how you can enhance your experience, and time in Osaka during the Expo at OMO7 Osaka by Hoshino Resorts.
Experience the future of flying vehicles
SkyDrive Co., Ltd., which is planning a demonstration flight of the three-seater "SD-05" at the Expo will showcase the test aircraft "SD-03," which successfully completed Japan's first public manned flight in August 2020.
While admiring the aircraft on display, guests can learn about the characteristics and mechanisms of flying cars, whilst imagining the scenery that can only be seen with this new means of transportation.
This unique collaboration will enhance the guest experience by allowing them to board the exhibition aircraft, experiencing first-hand the revolution in future vehicles, and expanding their imagination on how tourism will evolve with flying cars.
Held 13 February to 21 April, 12 May to 30 June, 1 September to 13 October 2025 from 7:30–8:00 PM at OMO Base (SD-03 exhibition is always on display)

In addition to the notable pavilions and food recommended by enthusiasts, the hotel will also introduce recommended visiting times and three encounters you can enjoy at the Expo.

Discover the unknown connection between Shinsekai and the World Expo
Known as the historical downtown area of Osaka, Shinsekai is famous for Tsutenkaku Tower and Janjan Yokocho. On a special guided tour held for a limited time during the Expo, guests can walk through Shinsekai with an OMO Ranger to uncover its connection to the World Expo.
The 5th National Industrial Exhibition was held in what is now Shinsekai in 1903 and is said to have led to Osaka's World Expo in 1970. By learning about the history and culture of Shinsekai, such as the foods that were popular in each era and the existence of popular amusement parks, guests can find new ways to enjoy sightseeing in Shinsekai.
Held daily from 4:00–5:00 PM until 13 October 2025 for hotel guests (advance reservation required).

Inside the Library Lounge, OMO7 Osaka by Hoshino Resorts will display reproductions of valuable materials of the 5th National Industrial Exhibition from 122 years ago, including guide maps, admission tickets, and a brisk walking map used to get around the venue smoothly.
Designed by 30 students from the graphic design department of the 21st Century Academia Vocational School Osaka Designer Academy, this collaborative project allows guests to view reproduced materials from 122 years ago in an exhibition space created by students who will lead the future.
