With International Women's Day fast approaching on the 8th March, we look to spotlight a truly exceptional woman in wellness that encapsulates what it means to be an empowered female professional. She has become a beacon of holistic wellbeing in South Africa and now, in her most exciting phase yet, she leads the spa development at the Saxon Hotel, Villas & Spa, Johannesburg.
About Mandy Trollip
Flying the flag for holistic wellbeing in South Africa, Mandy is a deep believer of the synergy between brain and body which has led her to become a vastly qualified practitioner across Kinesiology, Aromatherapy, Reiki, Sound Therapy, Meditation and many more.
With over 30 years of continuous study in her practised craft, Mandy leads each of her treatments with love, peace and harmony to truly guide guests to deep seated shifts and long-lasting transformation. Now, taking up residency at Saxon Hotel, Villas and Spa, she curates deeply personalised one-to-one journeys that blend sound and somatics with meditation through a 360-degree approach, down to the very detail of the room's acoustic resonance.
The Signature Sound and Somatic Journey
This newly developed treatment led by Mandy, is a unique and personalised sound experience with the intention of tapping into the body's innate intelligence, shifting mind, body and the soul into a blissful state of rest and digest.
The 75-minute treatment begins with an in-depth consultation, inviting guests to reveal what they would like to gain from the session, choosing an affirmation stone that gives them direction and deeper awareness. From here, Mandy will curate a repertoire of frequency techniques to repattern the response mechanisms of the nervous system, offering subtle messages of calm, love, healing, peace, and serenity.
Ancient mystics and modern scientists agree that everything is in a perpetual state of vibration, this includes our bodies, organs, tissues, and cells; it is no coincidence that when we are in optimal health we are said to be “In Sound Health”. “The body is like an orchestra, if one part begins to play out of tune, we soon lose balance and coherence” Mandy notes. This signature journey aims to bring coherence and calm to body, mind and spirit with many guests citing a deep shift both internally and externally following the treatment.
